Answers to your Questions...

What Should I Pack?

Plan to be comfortable but always show up as your best. Business casual is recommended for much of the event. You have the option to exercise each morning. There are multiple pools on the property both indoor and outdoor as well as a steam, sauna and cold plunge pool so you may want to bring a swim suit. You do not need linens or towels.

Where Is It and How Do I Get There?

The Summit will be held in Castleton, VA on the private farm of the late Maestro Lorin Maazel, one of history's most accomplished musical conductors. Castleton is approximately 60 miles southwest of Washington D.C., and the Theatre House where you will check in and spend most of your time is located at 663 Castleton View Road, Castleton, VA 22716We highly recommend that you enter this address into your GPS before leaving; because of internet and cell phone limitations in Rappahannock County, it can be hard to get a signal when you are already close to the farm.

From the Washington DC region

From Metro DC

Take I-66W to exit 43A (US-29 S) and follow Route 29 to Warrenton. In Warrenton, take a right turn onto US-211 W. After about 10 miles, take a left-hand turn onto 642 (Viewtown Road, which turns into 640/Forest Grove Road). Follow the road. Make a right at the stop sign onto 729 (Richmond Road, which turns into 618/Laurel Mills Road). After about 5 miles, continue straight past Route 618 (Hope Hill Road) for about ¼ mile. The Castleton Theatre is on the left where you can temporarily park to check in.

From Loudoun County

From Leesburg

Take US-15S and US 211 W After about 10 miles, take a left-hand turn onto 642 (Viewtown Road, which turns into 640/Forest Grove Road).

From Dulles International Airport

From the Dulles Airport

Follow Saarinen Circle to Dulles Access Road. Take US-28 S/Sully Road, I-66 W, US-29 S and US 211 W.

Will I Need a Car?

The farm is a large estate and the cottages and houses are spread across 500 acres. Depending on your chosen package you may want a car to travel to and from the Theatre House and potentially the pool. If you do not have a car let us know and we will try to accommodate you with a property within walking distance to all activities.

How Do I Choose My Roommate?

When you make your reservation, please let us know if there is someone you wish to room with and we will do our best to accommodate you. Otherwise, you will have an opportunity to forge new relationships. You never know your next best friend or client might be in the bed next to you.

What Will The Weather Be Like?

Of course we can't predict the weather but in late September the Farm should be beautiful. The outdoor pools are open and commonly in use this time of year. On average there are six days of rain in September and the lows are around 55° and the high around 78°. We picked this time of year for a reason. It should be lovely.

Is there WIFI and Cell Reception

It can be dicey. I hope you consider this a time to unplug for the most part. There is wifi and but cell reception is not dependable. If you need to work or call someone we will make sure you can get it done but it is not the best location for connectivity.

Can I Bring My Family?

If you want to bring your spouse or family they are more than welcome to share your room. In this case you should select one of the VIP packages. However, I recommend against it for this event. You will be in sessions, connecting with other women and eating all of your meals together. So you will have limited time to be with your family and if you choose to eat and hang with them you will miss out on a big benefit of the event - connecting with like minded women.

On the other hand, Rappahannock County and The Shenandoah Valley has a lot to offer. So your family can certainly share your room and enjoy their time exploring the area if they choose. Or better yet you can extend your stay, they can meet you after the Summit and you can discover the area together.

Should I Bring Food?

All of your meals are included so there is not need to bring food with you. On the other hand, most units have a refrigerator and fully equipped kitchen. If you prefer to eat breakfast in your room or like a midnight snack this is certainly an option. You will find the best selection of grocery stores in Warrenton, VA (about 30 minutes from the Farm).
